The Story Behind Denali Divas

Some dreams take the scenic route.

I first dreamed up Denali Divas back in 2018, when I was living off-grid in the wilds of Alaska.

It was a very different life then—wild, remote, rugged, beautiful, and filled with the kind of freedom you can only find when you're surrounded by mountains, wilderness, and a whole lot of nothing.

The idea for Denali Divas was born there.

And then… life happened.

There have been some pretty extreme twists and turns since that original idea first took root. Today, I find myself navigating a very different kind of wilderness—alone, dealing with multiple autoimmune diagnoses and some significant limitations that have changed what everyday life looks like for me.

There are things I once took completely for granted that now require adaptation. Something as simple as taking a shower or brushing my teeth can mean needing to sit down. Even basic tools, like a safety chair for the shower, have become things I need but simply can't afford right now... not to mention medications and treatments for pain management without insurance.

It's not exactly the chapter I imagined when I dreamed up Denali Divas.

But here's the thing I've learned:

Sometimes the dream doesn't disappear.

It simply waits for you to find your way back to it.

And that's what I'm doing.

Creating these designs has become a little pocket of joy in a season of life that has been anything but easy. I get to play with words, ideas, humor, femininity, attitude and a little bit of mischief.

I get to create.

And creating feels really, really good.

So, what exactly is a Denali Divas?

If you know me, you already know the answer.

I'm passionate about inspiring women to

✨embrace who they truly are,

✨own their worth, and...

✨unapologetically pursue the dreams and desires that make their hearts come alive.

Some of the designs in this shop speak directly to that.

Others are considerably less serious. 😉

Because women need permission to laugh, too.

There are designs that are empowering, designs that are whimsical, designs with a little sass, and designs that simply made me smile when I created them.

And maybe that's the whole point.

You don't have to take yourself—or life—so seriously all the time.

Wear something that makes you feel confident.

Wear something that makes you laugh.

Wear something that makes a stranger smile when they walk past you.

Or buy something for the woman who needs a little reminder that she's fabulous.

More than a shop

Denali Divas is still a tiny dream finding its feet.

But every purchase helps me keep creating, keep moving forward, and continue building a life that works with the body and circumstances I have now—not the ones I wish I had.

And perhaps more importantly, every time a woman wears something from Denali Divas, she carries a little piece of the original spirit with her:
